Nothing says homecoming like a slice of pie and hula hooping to Texas Wesleyan’s alma mater.

Six weeks into a new semester, and with spring break looming around the corner, Student Life, the Social Rams and the Student Government Association are kicking off homecoming events at 12:15 p.m. Feb. 16 with a faculty and staff versus students basketball game in the Sid Richardson building.

The festivities will continue at 7 p.m. Feb. 17 with pie eating, musical entertainment and a basketball shoot-out.

“At this years homecoming I want students to experience the strides that SGA, the Social Ram, and Student Life is making in bettering our college experience here on campus,” Bradden Van Noy, president of SGA, said. “We urge students to get involved and come see what being a Texas Wesleyan RAM is truly about.”

The Lady Rams’ basketball homecoming game begins at 2 p.m. Feb. 18, with the men’s Rams basketball game following at 4:15 p.m. in the Sid Richardson building.

Food and drinks will be served at 3 p.m. outside the building until 5:30 p.m.

Homecoming king and queen voting will be held Feb. 15-17 inside the front lobby of the library and in the SUB. Winners will be crowned during halftime of the men’s basketball game.

Eva Lopez, freshman math major ,said she is looking forward to seeing how the campus is decorated for the events.

“I would like to see the school trees or SUB decorated with the school colors to show school spirit,” Lopez said.

Deya Cabanas, junior education major, said that she hopes to see a great halftime show at the men’s basketball game.

“I did not go to the homecoming last last year, but I think Wesleyan is great!” Cabanas said.
