The Lady Rams placed 16th after a two-day tournament in the Dallas Baptist University Classic of Tuesday with a team score of 664.

On day one Elena Cervantez, freshman, led the team shooting an 82 in the first round, followed by a tie between Alexis Belton, sophomore and Deborah Dover,  junior, both shot an 83.

McKenzie Brown, freshman, was right behind her team mates, taking third place in the team standings, with an 88 giving the team total on day one of 336.

Day two quickly brought change to the Lady Rams as almost all of the Lady Rams dropped three to six strokes from day one.

Belton led the team again shooting a 77. Cervantez nipped at Belton’s cleats with an 82. Dover and Brown fell just shy of their team mates with an 84 and an 85, giving the Lady Rams a team total on day two of 328, 8 strokes down from day one.

Belton led the team and took 45th out of 91 ladies by the end of the tournament.

St. Edwards University took first place in the team standings with a 293 on day one and a 303 on day two.

The Lady Rams will take the winter break and resume playing on Feb. 18 at the Cloud Jacobs Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Houston-Victoria.
