rp_primary_DSC_0019The Lady Rams basketball team at Texas Wesleyan played Louisiana State University-Shreveport on Jan. 14 at 5:30 p.m. in the Sid Richardson Gym. Although the game was close the entire time, the Lady Rams fell to the Lady Pilots, 66-76.

The Lady Rams had a 34-27 lead at halftime thanks to a last second lay-up by Toeisha Cooper, junior forward. With a little less than eight minutes left in the game, the Lady Rams and Lady Pilots were tied 54-54.

Dre’a Davis, senior guard and exercise science major, said even though the team came up short on the score board, the team made improvements since the previous games.

“While we let the game slip away, we also had several highlights throughout the game. It is obvious at the end of the day we are our biggest competition,” Davis said. “We are ready to saddle up for the second half of conference and accomplish our goals as a team.”

The Lady Rams will play Jan. 19 at 5:30 p.m. in Austin, Texas against Houston Tillotson.
