The Rams of the Texas Wesleyan men’s basketball team lost Feb. 2 against Southwestern Assemblies of God University on SAGU’s home court in  Waxahachie, Texas with a score of 90-87.

SAGU is a top-ranked team with an overall record of 20-3 and are 14-2 in the Red River Athletic Conference. The Rams are 13-10 overall and 7-9 in the RRAC. The Rams battled it out to the end, playing a close-knit game the entire game.

Brian Talley, senior guard and accounting major, said he believed the team played good overall.

“There were a couple of possessions that could have changed the game for us,” Talley said.

Talley got injured during the game and could not return.

“I was upset when I sprained my ankle,” Talley said. “I wanted to be out there on the floor with my teammates.”

The Rams will play again Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Houston, Texas against St. Thomas University.
