The Texas Wesleyan women’s basketball team played against Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Feb. 2 at 2  p.m.

The Lady Rams headed to Waxahachie, Texas and earned a win on the road, 77-65.  SAGU is a rival school for Wesleyan and the crowds are always intense. The Lady Rams did not let the off court distractions take away from their game. This was an important win for the Lady Rams, earning fourth place in the Red River Athletic Conference.

Dre’a Davis, senior guard and exercise science major, said yesterday’s win was a must-have.

“I feel like, as a team, we jumped on them early which was great but as the game progressed, we let up a little and let them back in the game,” Davis said. “Overall, it was a good win.”

Davis said the team just has to continue to work hard.

“We have to learn how to put the dagger in our opponents and finish them off early,” Davis said.

The Lady Rams will play Mon. Feb. 4 at 5:30 p.m. in Houston, Texas against St. Thomas University.
