The Texas Wesleyan women’s basketball team played against Northwood University Feb. 7 at 8 p.m. and came out victorious with a thirty point win, 80-50.

The game went smoothly for the Lady Rams, as they jumped on the Lady Knights early in the game. Wesleyan played great defense as they kept NU to only 19 points for the whole first half.

Dre’a Davis, senior guard and exercise science major, said the game time was changed, but they adjusted properly.

“We played well despite the time change of the game,” Davis said. “We pulled off a 30 point win,” Davis said.

The Lady Rams allowed the Lady Knights to score 31 points in the second half but also added 45 to their scoreboard, earning the 80-50 win.

“We started out slow, but finished very hard,” Davis said. “It was a team effort.”

The Lady Rams will hoop again Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m. in the Sid Richardson Center against Bacone College. This game will be a “Pink Out ” game to spread awareness about cancer.
