The Rams of the Texas Wesleyan men’s basketball team played against Langston University on Feb. 9 at 4 p.m. The Rams beat The Lions with a 10 point win 81-71 on their homecoming afternoon.
Oscar Griffin, senior guard, had a double-double scoring 26 points and pulling down 13 rebounds to help lead the team to victory.
Brian Talley, senior guard and accounting major, said this win was very important.
“It felt good to win on homecoming but we still need to continue to get better, to get prepared for the conference tournament coming up,” Talley said.
The Rams were up by 14 points at half time and continued the winning score in the second half. In most of the second half the Rams led in double digits and never let up.
Talley had 13 points for the game and Dallas Jones, junior guard, added 12.
The Rams will play to win again on Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. for their cancer awareness game in the Sid Richardson Center against Bacone College.
