The annual Cowtown Classic was put into action this past weekend and the Texas Wesleyan softball team played Feb. 15-16.

On Feb. 15 the Lady Rams went 2-1 playing against Doane College, Graceland University, and Friends University. The Lady Rams beat Doane College 8-0, won an impressive 10-1 against Graceland University, but took a loss to Friends University 1-2.

In the first game against Doane, no one scored until the bottom of the fourth inning when Cheyenne Brown, senior right-handed pitcher, hit a right center ball to give the Lady Rams a single run on the scoreboard. The game went up from there with help from Ashley Seibel, junior second basemen, Emily Burch, senior third basemen, and Brown all contributing to make it an 8-0 win against Doane.

The second game was against Graceland University, the Lady Rams took a quick lead thanks to a home run by Kendall Kizer, sophomore second basemen, putting the ladies up 1-0. By the top of the third the Lady Rams were up 4-0 and the lead only grew. In the fourth inning Kali Jester, junior, utility player, added a three run home run to give Wesleyan three more runs.

Wesleyan took the 10-1 win making that day a 2-0 win.
