On Feb. 19, the Texas Wesleyan baseball team played against the University of Texas at Dallas Comets at the La Grave Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.

Trevor Moon, freshmen outfielder, hit a single while David Kiriakos, senior short-stop, stole third to make it a run for the Rams, 1-0 in the first inning.

Both teams remained scoreless until the fourth inning when Dusty Harper junior first basemen hit a triple to give two more runs to Wesleyan’s score turning it to a 3-0 lead.

The Rams continued the scoring in the sixth inning when Joel  Rickman, sophomore short-stop, hit a double followed by a single from Dakota Lee, junior outfielder.

By the end of the sixth inning the Rams were up 5-0. The Rams played great defense and held the Comets to zero until the ninth inning when the UTD scored two runs but could not make up for the deficit and lost to the Rams 5-2.

Michael Scruggs, junior pitcher, threw four scoreless innings pitched.

The Rams will play their first conference game  Feb. 22-23 against Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
