The Texas Wesleyan’s baseball team played Mar. 1 and 2 against Louisiana State University-Shreveport at La Grave Field in Fort Worth, Texas. The Rams won all three games, 5-1 , 12-8,  6-5.

The Rams and the Pilots remained scoreless until the third inning. Joel Rickman, sophomore short stop, and Jake Davis, sophomore short stop, both contributed to a single run score that put the Rams up one. Trevor Moon, junior outfielder, earned a run for the Rams along with Charles Tabone, senior first basemen, and Brian White, senior catcher. By the sixth inning the Rams were up 5-0. The Pilots only gained one run and the Rams finished the first game of the series with a 5-1 lead.

TWU played LSUS two more times on Mar. 2. The first game started out hot for the Rams, putting two runs on the board early. By the bottom of the second,  the Rams were up 4-0 with hits by Moon, and Alex Padilla, senior catcher. The Rams didn’t stop there, they continued to slam hits and earn runs and by the end of the second inning, Wesleyan was up 12-0. Although the lead was great, LSUS did not stop trying. The Rams did not score anymore runs for the rest of the game but the LSUS Pilots did come back with eight runs by the seventh inning.

In the last game of the series, both teams remained scoreless again but this time until the fourth inning. Padilla and Tabone both scored singles to put the Rams up 2-0. Padilla and Jake Howeth, sophomore outfielder, both scored off errors gaining two more runs in the fifth inning; 5-2. The Pilots could not gain the lead and the Rams put them away for the weekend 6-5.

The Rams will play against Jarvis Christian College on Mar. 8 at 3 p.m.
