Texas Wesleyan’s baseball team has not lost since March 16, but against Mary Hardin-Baylor, they ended that winning streak.

TWU played against UMHB on Apr. 16 and the Rams took a tough 10-6 loss. The Rams fell behind in the first half when the UMHB scored two runs in the first inning. Although Jake Howeth, sophomore outfielder, hit a double in the bottom of the third, no runs were gained for the Rams.

By the fourth inning, the Rams had no runs and UMHB had gained a greater lead 5-0. In the eighth inning, the Crusaders had 10 runs and Wesleyan fought back to earn four runs. Cody McGee, junior short stop, Alex Padilla, senior catcher, Dusteyn Suttle, sophomore outfielder, and Charles Tabone, senior first basemen, all contributed to getting four runs for Wesleyan.

McGee and Suttle also earned two runs in the ninth inning to try to close in the gap between the two teams but it wasn’t enough. The Rams lost 10-6.

The next game will be against Wiley College on Apr. 19 at 3 p.m. at La Grave Field in Fort Worth, Texas.
