Playmarket Series #2: The Ghostly Cabin of Spooky Torment

Dakota Baggett

Theatre Wesleyan has announced the second reading in the Playmarket Series in the 2013-2014 season on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. in the Thad Smotherman Theatre.

“The Ghostly Cabin of Spooky Torment” by Tim Crabb will be presented with approximate running time for the reading at 55 minutes. There will be no intermission.

What happens when two ghosts are so good at their job that no one dares to venture near their cabin? Their overwhelming boredom and struggle to deal with a ghostly union steward and a reality TV star result in a PG-rated farce of haunting humor & ectoplasmic silliness.

Crabb, a freshman theatre major, joins volunteer actors and production staff of Theatre Wesleyan’s Playmarket in the reading of his original story. A talkback with the playwright will follow the reading with ample time for questions and answers. No reservations are necessary, and admission is free.

All students are welcome and encouraged to attend, watch, and give feedback. Suggestions, support and criticism will help the aspiring playwright bring his script one step closer to being stage-ready.

If you are a theatre fan, looking for a laugh, or just need a relaxing break from your Sunday study session, there is no better way to spend a Sunday afternoon with free entertainment.
