The Lady Rams’ Golf team at Texas Wesleyan for the 2014-2015 season has kicked.

Kevin Millikan is the returning Head Coach for the Lady Rams in his third year.

So far this year the Lady Rams have completed three tournaments and have one more remaining. To start the season off the Lady Rams opened up with hosting their own tournament here in Fort Worth at Hawks Creek Golf Club, Sept. 8-9.

“It has been very exciting this year breaking many of our team’s records this early into the season.” said team member Jessica Liptak

Stephanie Kalapach shot a 74-77-15. Taylor Icenberger shot a 75-76-151 to finish tied for 6 place.

Alex Schies shot a 78-77-155 to place in a tie for 11.  Jacey Patton shot a 76-83-159 to place in a tie for 16. Deborah Dover rounded out the Lady Rams top 5 with scores of 82-81-163 to finish in 22nd place. The Lady Rams finished in 3rd place out of 10 teams.

The second tournament this fall was hosted by Oklahoma City University in Oklahoma City on Sept. 15-16. Alex Schies shot a 70-77-75-222 to finish in a tie for 8th place. Jacey Patton 76-76-73-225 finished in a tie for 16th place. Stephanie Kalapach shot a 77-77-74-228 to finish in a tie for 28th pace. Taylor Icenberger shot a 76-78-81-235 to finish in a tie for 36th place. And Deborah Dover rounded out the Lady Rams with a 76-80-81-237 to finish in a tie for 40th place. The Lady Rams finished in 7 place out of 14 teams.

The last tournament the Lady Rams played was hosted by Dallas Baptist University in Dallas on Oct. 13-14.

Stephanie Kalapach shot a 77-77-154 to finish in a tie for 24 place. Alex Schies shot a 80-78-158 and Jacey Patton shot a 78-80-156 to both finish in a tie for 35th place. Taylor Icenberger shot a 78-85-163 to finish in a tie for 54th place.

Deborah Dover rounded out the Lady Rams top 5 with a 82-82-164 to finish in a tie for 59th place. Alexis Belton played as an individual and shot a 78-80-158 to finish in a tie for 35th place. The Lady Rams finished the tournament in 11th place out of 17 teams.

“The team this year has played really well.” said Alexis Belton. “And right now it looks like we could have 4 All-Americans on the team.”  Of those four, three are freshman and one is a senior.  Much of the success this year has come from the help of Hall of Fame LPGA golfer Sandra Shyine. Shyinewon 39 tournaments on the LPGA tour which included 4 major championship victories.

The Lady Rams look to finish the fall semester off when they will travel to Puerto Rico on Oct. 27-28.
