Onyesonam Nolisa’s excellent season for the Lady Rams continues as she was named the Sooner Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 10-16, according to ramsports.net.
Nolisa scored 11 points and had 15 rebounds on Nov. 11 as the Lady Rams beat Jarvis Christian College at home, 91-55, according to ramsports.net. Three days later, on Nov. 14, she was even better, scoring 14 points and notching 15 rebounds and five blocked shots as the team beat the University of the Incarnate Word 74-66 in San Antonio.
“I just want to be able to contribute to my team and help us get the win,” said Nolisa, who added that it was an honor to be named player of the week.
She said that coming back from 4 knee surgeries is a blessing, and that she is glad she has had support from family and friends.
Lady Rams head coach Bill Franey said he is very proud of Nolisa.
“Ony is a special kid and I enjoy working with her,” said Franey. “I’m extremely proud of her but we have to stay focused as a team and continue to build.”
The Lady Rams lost to Oklahoma City University 84-69 at home on Thursday, according to ramsports.net. Nolisa scored a team-high 19 points and also had 10 rebounds and four blocked shots. The team travels to Oklahoma on Saturday for an afternoon game against Southwestern Christian University.
