Look for the Red Sox to win the World Series

The seasons changing from winter to spring, the smell of freshly cut green grass, and burgers and hot dogs cooking on the grill can only mean one thing.

Baseball season is once again upon us.

Last season was a classic seven-game World Series in which the San Francisco Giants defeated the Kansas City Royals 4-3 to capture the title.

I don’t think many people, myself included, expected Kansas City to go all the way to the World Series, but don’t expect them to have a repeat of last year and get back to the World Series in 2015.

So many moves happened this off-season: The Nationals added a 20-game winner in Max Scherzer to go along with an already great rotation that features former No. 1 draft pick Stephen Strasburg and Jeff Zimmerman. The Mariners added Nelson Cruz to go along with power hitter Robinson Cano. While the Oakland Athletics lost a lot of players in the off-season, they always seem to be in contention in September, when it matters most. Even though the Yankees welcomed back Alex Rodriguez from suspension, they have too many holes to fill on their team, but they have one of the biggest payrolls in baseball and can make moves at any time.

This is what makes baseball so exciting – the flurry of moves that happen throughout the off-season, and even throughout the season, make it difficult to pick who you think is going to the World Series.

Many experts have the Mariners and the Nationals in the World Series, with the Mariners winning it all.

While I like the moves the Mariners in the off-season, I think the Red Sox are going to win it all. With the addition of Pablo Sandoval to a lineup that already features David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, and Mike Napoli, it should be fun to watch the Red Sox this year.  They added Rick Porcello to a staff that includes Clay Buckholtz, and Justin Masterson, and they should be able to boast one of the better pitching staffs in the league.

Be sure to tune and support your favorite team as this could be one of more exciting seasons in a long time.
