Here’s why Golden State will win it all

Heres+why+Golden+State+will+win+it+all

The 2014-2015 NBA playoffs are once again upon us.

In last year’s playoffs, the San Antonio Spurs beat the favored Miami Heat 4-1 to win their fifth NBA championship.

What makes the playoffs so exciting every year is anything can happen on any given day. For example, back in 2007, when the No.8 seed Golden State Warriors knocked off the No. 1 seed Dallas Mavericks in the opening round. That just shows that there is no one dominant team.

This year’s playoff teams are stacked, so there should be no shortage of good games and outstanding finishes.

In the Western Conference you have the Warriors, whose point guard Stephen Curry is playing at an MVP level, taking on arguably the NBA’s hottest team right now, the New Orleans Pelicans, who are led by Anthony Davis and his unibrow. Don’t count out Gregg Popovich’s San Antonio Spurs, because even though they boast the oldest team in the NBA, they always find a way to hang around come finals time.

The most intriguing matchup in the West will be the Dallas Mavericks taking on the Houston Rockets.  The Rockets won the season series 2-1, but Dallas matches up really well, with Dirk Nowitzki, Chandler Parsons and Rajon Rondo. James Harden, Dwight Howard and Trevor Ariza lead the Rockets, with former Maverick Jason Terry around for late-game shooting situations.

In the Eastern Conference, all eyes will be on the Cleveland Cavaliers and how the trio of Lebron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving will fare. The Eastern Conference won’t be as cutthroat as the Western Conference, but a couple of teams to keep an eye out for are the Washington Wizards, who are led by all-star point guard John Wall and also have Paul Pierce, who despite his age is probably one of the few players who can match up with James, should both teams advance. Keep an eye out also for the top-seeded Atlanta Hawks, who at one point won 19 games in a row. They are led by a big group of players including power forward Paul Millsap, point guard Jeff Teague, and center Al Horford.

My prediction for the NBA finals is the Golden State Warriors taking on the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavaliers have the most tested team, with Lebron, Irving and a bench that includes 3 point specialist Mike Miller, and Shawn Marion.

I believe Golden State is going to win the championship in seven games. Between Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Harrison Barnes, they have more weapons than Cleveland, and their coach, Steve Kerr, is a winner, going back to his playing days at the University of Arizona.

Keep watching the NBA playoffs on ABC, TNT and ESPN, to see your favorite teams in action.
