The Student Government Association passed four bills at Tuesday’s meeting.

The Wesleyan 5k Natural and Social Sciences Quiz Game Bill allocates $146.33 to have SGA help the School of Natural and Social Sciences promote a quiz game during the Wesleyan 5k on Oct. 19.

School of Natural and Social Sciences Representative Sheryl Vu, who presented the bill, said the school wants to reach out to students during the event about what they do.

“The quiz game was for the purpose of promoting for the studying of natural and social sciences,” Vu said. “So we would have different questions regarding to biology and psychology, just like really simple questions about science or religions.”

The other three bills that were passed, the Homecoming Crowns and Sashes Bill, the Wesleyan’s Got Talent Bill, and the Homecoming Block Party Bill, are to help with next week’s Homecoming.

The Homecoming Crowns and Sashes Bill allocates $142.17 to help pay for homecoming sashes and crowns to give the homecoming court.

Freshman Representative Meghan Lewis said the sashes and crown will be given to the homecoming court at the homecoming game on Oct. 19. The Rams play Texas College at 2 p.m. at Farrington Field.

“Homecoming crowns and sashes are a necessity for the tradition,” Lewis said.

The Wesleyan’s Got Talent Bill allocates $19.07 to supply medals for the talent show’s top three winners during Wesleyan’s talent show 6 p.m. Oct. 17 at Martin Hall.

Head Representative Kierra Glover, who presented the bill, said she hopes many people will attend.

“Student Government Association helps continue the tradition of hosting a talent show during homecoming week,” Glover said.

Glover also presented the Homecoming Block Party Bill, which allocates for no more than $600 to help fund for materials needed at the block party on Oct. 16. She said one event they will have is pumpkin decorating for students to enjoy.

“This is where the fall part comes into it,” Glover said. “I am expecting this is gonna be a great turnout as it has been in the past. We’re not gonna have them carve the pumpkins with knives so we decided on stickers.”

SGA meetings are held 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the SGA boardroom on the second floor of the Nick and Lou Martin University Center.
