Dr. Kay L. Colley, who serves as Texas Wesleyan’s director of student media and student media faculty liaison, earned a doctor of philosophy degree in higher education from the University of North Texas in 2007. Colley holds a master’s degree in international journalism from Baylor University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Texas A&M, as well as an associate’s of arts degree in journalism from Blinn College. Colley also teaches in the communication department and serves as communication department chair.
Prior to joining Texas Wesleyan University in 2008, Colley taught at five other Texas institutions including University of North Texas Health Science Center, University of Texas at Arlington, University of North Texas, Texas A&M and Blinn College.
She has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and made numerous conference presentations.
Her leadership positions include serving on the board of Fort Worth Society of Professional Journalists and Fort Worth International Association of Business Communicators. She is the current president of the Southwest Education Council for Journalism and Mass Communication. She has advised student media for more than 20 years.
