Dr. Ngozi Akinro gained her doctorate in Mass Communication and Media Arts from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois. She has a master’s degree in Mass Communication- Radio-TV from Arkansas State University and bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts from the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria. She teaches Digital Production, Media and Society and Audio and Video Production for Business. She has also taught Writing Across Platforms, Understanding Electronic Media and International Media Systems. Dr. Akinro has worked with television and radio stations in Nigeria and the United States. She has produced and hosted television and radio shows such as Cultural Perspectives and The Zee Show. She also produced and directed live stage shows and musicals. Her research interests include conflict management, terrorism and crisis coverage, human rights issues, social media, gender and race relations. She has published articles and book reviews in professional and peer reviewed research journals. Dr. Akinro enjoys writing, singing and cooking.
