Despite winter storm Enzo postponing the initial event date, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) at Texas Wesleyan hosted their first ever vision board workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 4.
Students were invited to gather in the Martin University Center while being provided with magazines and newspapers that were donated from Eunice James West Library. AAUW also provided supplies and Crumbl Cookies to accompany the vision boarding hour.
Vision boards can contain any and everything: academic and career goals, travel bucket lists, aesthetic sourcing, or whatever the creator may desires. AAUW worked to emphasize that it’s never too late to create a vision of wants and goals in life.

AAUW President Katherine Hernandez ensured that the environment for this workshop was welcoming and comfortable while also offering an opportunity for students to connect with their peers. She made sure to participate as well.
“I love pink, and I am aiming to set my goals for the semester, so that’s what I want my vision board to look like,” she said.
Senior mass communication major Diana Fernandez created a vision board that commemorates future achievements.
“My main inspiration for my vision board is the fact that I’m graduating. I used a lot of flowers because no one has time to stop and smell the roses,” Fernandez said. She added that, “Everyone is so busy preparing to graduate and be done with school that they don’t stop to see what’s around them.”

On display at the event were two different vision board options: a bingo vision board and a regular inspirational vision board.
“I just want to take more photos, work on my art, and post more on social media, so I would like my vision board to reflect that,” senior marketing major Isabel Payan said.
AAUW’s Vision Boarding event is one of many events they will host this spring. Check Ramspace for future events.
