Around 9:50 p.m., Canvas access returned after hours of inaccessibility.
Texas Wesleyan Information Technology alerted users of an ‘outage’ through a campus-wide email at 4:02 p.m. on Thursday, May 7.
“Our team is actively monitoring the situation and working with the vendor to restore service as quickly as possible,” the email from IT Help Desk Chief Information Officer Greg Murray said.
First-year biochemistry major Yeabsria Mamo found out about the outage while studying for her final exams. Mamo says she was unable to access her lecture notes or formula sheets.
“[It’s] a little inconvenient since I do have an exam to study for,” Mamo said. “I don’t know how to reach my lecture notes now.”
Junior education major Victoria Aguwa said the timing was concerning.
“It’s kinda crazy considering it’s finals week,” Aguwa. “[It’s] a big obstacle because I have a lot of stuff I need to turn in on Canvas.”
