The warm breezes of summer are only a few weeks away and knowing all the latest fashion trends is important for staying cool this season.

Whether you are headed to work or to the beach, being fashionable this summer will keep you looking your best.

Pantone, a company who specializes in colors for print, fabric, paint, and plastics, says this season’s color scheme is En Plein Air.

According to pantone.com, the theme focuses on “cooler and softer color choices with subtle warm tones follow a minimalistic en plein air theme, taking a cue from nature.”

Some of the colors include aquamarine, scuba blue, Lucite green, classic blue, strawberry ice, and lavender herb.

“Soft, cool hues to blend with subtle warm tones to create a soothing escape for the everyday hustle and bustle,” writes Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone Color Institute, at pantone.com.

Texas Wesleyan students are excited about the warmer weather and cooler clothes.

“I am a huge advocate for shorts above the knee,” SGA President Tyler Mendez said, “and controversially showing too much thigh.”

Men’s fashion is usually pretty predictable, but Tanner Guzy, fashion blogger for masculine-style.com, writes that getting men to wear something more than cargo pants and flip-flops is the challenge this summer.

“A man’s suits and business-casual attire can fluctuate with the seasons as well,” Guzy wrote. “While an all-season suit is the most versatile, there’s something much more comfortable and appropriate about having one or two dressed-up items that are only worn during particular times of the year.”

Guzy suggests wearing a linen jacket for breathability and also keeping the material light and tropical-weight for warmer weather. Lighter colors may also keep you cool, but can look more casual.

“When planning on making a purchase of a new suit or sport coat, it’s best to weigh the garment’s versatility and formality against its comfort,” Guzy wrote. “A cream suit may be more comfortable, but it’s also going to appear more casual.”

BreAnne Elenburg, fashion blogger of beingbe.com, promotes flowy dresses, jumpers, and clothes with stripes for this summer’s look.

“Something that I’m extremely excited about for spring and summer 2015 is clothing with a hint of’ 70s in an amazing jumpsuit from Esther Penn that has just the right amount of that disco vibe,” Elenurg writes. “Another upcoming trend is all-white. Paired with a great heel, and some confidence, all-white makes for such a beautiful summer look.”

Elenburg, who studied fashion at Texas Christian University, believes this summer should mix, not match.

“Unless you are in all white, fringe and summer suede,” Elenburg said, “this [season] it is all about not matching.”
