This evening, on Oct. 11, staff received an official email from the Office of Communications, stating that all passwords would be reset by 9 p.m.
The internet outage was a cause of “suspicious network activity”, said an official email from the Office of Communications on Tues, Oct. 10 at 10:54 a.m. The password reset is the repercussions of this.
“Dear Texas Wesleyan University Community, we would like to provide you with an important network update as we continue to work diligently to restore our network to its entirety while ensuring a safe environment for all, as we continue in-person, on-campus, instruction,” the Office of Communication said in an email on Wednesday evening.
Students and staff can change their passwords by attempting to log into their RamLink account. From there, users will be able to change their school passwords.
“After that time, you will be prompted to reset your password and will need to use a password of at least 14 characters,” the official email from Office of Communications stated. “[You will need to] Include at least one upper case letter, one lower case letter, one number, and one special character.”
At the end of the email, the Office of Communication included a LINK to direct users to a government cybersecurity page to learn how to protect their information.
