The Student Government Association voted on Thursday to fund a toast for graduating seniors.
The toast for all graduating Wesleyan students will be at Shaw’s Patio and Grill on April 30. The SGA approved $800 for the event.
“Shaw’s Patio and Grill is owned by Wesleyan alums,” said Senior Class Representative Meghan Finley. “We are expecting around 75 to 100 people and the first ones to RSVP will get a ticket.”
Attending graduates will be provided with free food and non-alcoholic beverages, Finely said.
The SGA also approved spending $862 to reimburse two theater students who attended last week’s United States Institute of Theater Technology conference.
The SGA meeting also included reminders about several upcoming events.
This includes the March 31 Food Forum at Dora’s.
“During the food forum we are going to discuss updates to dining services, including the Campus Dish App,” said School Of Education Representative Victoria Thornton. “We will be discussing the Sub renovations, and some of the problems that students are having with dining services.”
Other events include the April 16 softball tailgate party at Sycamore Park, and the men’s soccer team’s charity golf tournament on April 24.
At the golf tournament, Rams will pick their own teams from non-soccer players and will make groups of four. Each team will pay $150 to participate in the event. All proceeds will go to the men’s soccer program.
Soccer golf will start at 9 a.m. at Sycamore Creek Golf Course. The tournament will be followed by an alumni soccer match at Martin Field, according to txwes.edu.
The SGA will not hold meetings on April 2, April 9, and April 16. The next SGA meeting will be April 23.
