The Student Government Association adjourned for the 2014-2015 academic year after its last business meeting on Thursday.

The SGA unanimously passed a bill approving two possible sites for a mock courtroom in Polytechnic United Methodist Church.

SGA President Tyler Mendez recognized all graduating SGA members. Along with Mendez, this includes Chief Justice Alan Villafana, Secretary Jacob Sanchez, Senior Class Representative Meghan Finley and Representative at Large Roberto Zevallos.

“These individuals have put a lot of time, effort, and love into this organization,” Mendez said. “I want to thank each one of you for your service.”

Dean of Students Dennis Hall also congratulated the council on their year.

“Y’all are really inspiring people,” Hall said. “I am very impressed with this group, specifically with the level of dedication and commitment with everyone.”

Vice president Abbey Borghee presented her final building and grounds committee report and highlighted a couple of changes to look forward to next semester.

“The next vice president, Zahraa Saheb, will be looking into rentable laptops for use around campus,” Borghee said. “For Model Arab Week we were at Texas A&M and they had a system that we were really impressed with so we made contacts and want to make this happen.”

All newly elected SGA members will be sworn in at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday in Martin Hall.
