96.7 The Ticket returned to Texas Wesleyan on Wednesday. The morning sports radio show, which last visited campus last April, broadcast Wednesday for four hours from the lounge of the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Science and Technology Center. “We had a really good experience last April and we wanted to come back not just because we were asked, but because we really liked being here,” said Wesleyan alum and Ticket employee Ryan Ellison. The Ticket is the most popular sports talk radio station in the Dallas-Fort Worth area; it is located in Dallas in the Victory Park area, Ellison said. The show’s hosts are George Dunham, nicknamed Georgio, Craig Miller, nicknamed Junior, and Gordon Keith, nicknamed the Great Gordo. They are known as “The Musers.” Tom Boyd, a senior computer science major with a minor in scuba diving, said he came by to talk to a friend who was watching the broadcast. “I didn’t know this was going on, but it’s kind of cool they are doing this here,” Boyd said. Nicholas Govea, a junior athletic training major, also stopped by the broadcast to try to win the miniature replica Dallas Cowboys helmet the station raffled off at 9:45 a.m. “I listen to them all the time and it’s really cool that they like being here,” Govea said. Dallas-Fort Worth is the fifth largest radio and television market in the United States, behind New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Philadelphia, said Ticket employee Dan Andrieu. Andrieu has been working for The Ticket for four years and has seen the broadcast grow each year, he said. The show generally talks about all sports, but puts more of a focus on football and baseball. “Wesleyan is one of the best visits of anywhere we go,” Miller said.
