The Texas Wesleyan Lady Rams tennis program lost to the Texas A&M Texarkana Eagles [7 – 0] at the Steve Foster Invitational held at the Arlington Tennis Center on Mar.6.
After defeating Grand View University the previous day [ 7 – 0], the Lady Rams were looking to pick up where they left off, but the Eagles came in as a competitive bunch looking to test the endurance of the Lady Rams.
“[The Eagles were] very tough. They were ready to play, very consistent with the balls,” Lady Rams Head Coach Nicole Davis said.
A number of Lady Rams were playing through injuries they sustained throughout the early half of the season. Players like Taytum Stafford, junior biology major, said that nagging injuries made it difficult to compete in her doubles match alongside sophomore Camdyn Sackett.

“The fact that I couldn’t move made it difficult,” Stafford said. “If I could move, it would be a lot better.”
Despite the loss, the players enjoyed competing against the Eagles. Paulina Hudson, sophomore general business major said that being vocal keeps her focused.
“I’m very vocal in the play because that’s what keeps me in the game,” Hudson said.
The Lady Rams will continue playing as they face William Woods University (MO) in their final matchup in the Steve Foster Invitational on Sunday, March 8.
