The Student Government Association approved on Thursday a bill which rewards students and organizations for attending S.G.A. meetings.
The plan will begin on Feb. 5 and offers cash rewards to individual students and organizations who attend the most SGA meetings during the semester. The organization that attends the most meetings, will receive $1,500. The individual that attends the most will receive $600.
“The SGA participation program proved successful last semester,” said Vice President Abby Borghee.
The competition will go until the end of the semester.
The SGA also discussed what to name the newly constructed fire pit.
“Since a name could not be decided today,” SGA President Tyler Mendez said, “I will come up with some ideas.”
The SGA also discussed when memorial services will be held for Elizabeth Suarez and William Harrison, Wesleyan students who recently died. No dates were decided.
“These services will be for the students to come and pay respects,” Mendez said . “The time and dates will be decided after we contact the family members and get their availability.”
Borghee also announced that IGNITE will return to campus on Feb. 21.
“IGNITE, which stands for inspiring girls now in technology evolution, helps by empowering women and helping them with leadership skills required in politics,” said Borghee.
