Student Activities provided free root beer floats on Wednesday outside the Brown- Lupton Campus Center.
The event, “No Fools Just Floats,” was a spontaneous way to celebrate April Fools’ Day, said Jasmine Tuya, Student Activities coordinator.
“We had a lot of root beer left over from events that were canceled due to snow days,” Tuya said. “ We wanted to do something with the root beer, so that is why we decided to do root beer floats.”
Students enjoyed their floats while listening to recorded music outside of the SUB.
Lauren Wernet, a sophomore biochemistry major, said she was flattered at the idea of receiving free floats.
“This is really sweet that they would do this for us,” Wernet said.
Senior mass communications major and homecoming king Jeremy Hunt said he was looking to more Student Activities events.
“I am glad they got in an event before Easter break,” Hunt said.
The next Student Activities event is Ram Jam, which will be held as part of University College Day on April 16, Tuya said. The organization will provide a free lunch from noon to 2 p.m. and international students will provide desserts from their home country.
“It’s going to be fun,” Tuya said. “There will be a lot of games and activities to do.”
