Dr. Noe Flores passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in Fort Worth.
Flores retired from Texas Wesleyan University in 2003 after several years of teaching Spanish and Hispanic literature in the United States, according The Star-Telegram. He worked with Dr. Rodolfo Rodriquez in designing and implementing a training program for bilingual education. He was the president of the Texas Association for Bilingual Education and advocated for comprehensive training of teachers. He worked to help students gain literacy skills in their native language as a foundation for learning English as a second language.
The memorial service for Flores will be Friday, July 31 at the Botanic Gardens Lecture Hall. The service is at 3:00 p.m., and there is a 2 p.m. fellowship in the Foyer at the Garden “for anyone who wants to arrive early to express condolences to the family and visit.”
