Brunch is transitioning from something to do on a Sunday morning/afternoon to a staple in this generation’s lives.
What better way to catch up with your friends following a Saturday night out on the town? Maybe you needed some extra time with your friends or maybe you just needed to piece together the events of the previous evening.
Brunch is the best way to do that. It is about spending time with the people you love, because what brings people together more than food and fancy drinks?
Breakfast food is my favorite food and I often find myself making eggs for lunch and dinner. Naturally, when I discovered brunch we hit it off instantly and I have been going ever since.
The best brunches consist of greasy foods and one or two Mimosas – sometimes more. Usually more.
Gloria’s Latin Cuisine has $1 Mimosas and $2 pomegranate or mango Mimosas. You can’t find a deal much better than that. I say go for the breakfast chilaquiles. Yum. Taverna in downtown Fort Worth has quite a bit to offer as well with Mimosas and Bellinis as low as $2. To top it off, their Italian-style brunch menu is mouthwatering.
Some prefer the Bloody Mary, which has become its own way to brunch. Restaurants top their Bloody Marys with the meal itself, often including cheeseburger sliders, bacon, waffle fries and anything else you can put on a skewer. Sounds a little absurd? Go see for yourself at Anvil Pub in Dallas where they are known for their “over the top Bloody Marys” according to urbanspoon.com. Your brunch cocktail will cost you $20 and it’s well worth it, considering that you receive your meal, appetizer and beverage all in one.
Let’s talk brunch buffets. You can never go wrong with all you can eat and for $19.95 you get all you can drink too at Blue Mesa Grill. Blue Mesa is not only delicious, but award winning. They have received a “Reader’s Choice Best Brunch” award from the Dallas Observer as well as a “The Best in DFW – Best Brunch” award from the Dallas Morning News and a “The Best of Big D’s Readers Choice Best Brunch” award from D Magazine. Blue Mesa is conveniently located in University Park Village where you can also do some after brunch shopping at Gap, Anthropoligie, J-Crew, Kendra Scott and more.
If you are looking for some of the best breakfast food in Fort Worth, look no further than Lucile’s Stateside Bistro on Camp Bowie Boulevard. With menu items such as the banana nut French toast and the huevos rancheros your senses will explode the moment you walk in the door.
The Wild Mushroom restaurant is going to be a one-stop-shop for all things brunch. For $22.50 you get an entre, access to the buffet, and a complimentary Mimosa. There is also a $7.50 build-your-own Bloody Mary bar. This is a must-try spot for brunch.
These are just a few examples of why you should make a point to go to brunch in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This is the best way to kill a lazy Sunday.
